U-Rings supplied by Orinoco Bearings Ltd
The function of a U-Ring or U-Seal is to provide a pressure seal in either a static or dynamic application
We supply a variety of U-rings to different designs and in various materials - including polyurethane - for hydraulic duties
The U-ring with long thin lips has very low dynamic friction and can accommodate out-of-round or eccentric components. Other configurations with short heavy lips provide a more reliable seal at low pressures and are better suited for sealing at high pressures.
These variations in design, coupled with the broad range of available materials results in a very versatile line of sealing devices.
U Packings
The U packings are intended to meet the needs of the low and medium pressure ranges of hydraulic equipment. These are of robust construction and will give long life under normal operating conditions, i.e., where pressures do not exceed 175 bar* and where surface finishes of cylinders or rods are of a high quality and the system is free from dirt, grit etc.
The pressure limitation indicated above is for guidance only, the actual pressure limitation depends on the working clearances, speeds and other operating conditions.
A U Packing will be found equally suitable for sealing single or double acting pistons or the glands on piston rods. These packings do not require spacer or lantern rings and will provide a very simple and economical packing assembly.
U packings are normally produced in grade H9 (89 I.R.H.D.)
